
VALLEY CITY, ND (NewsDakota.com) The Hi-Liner track and field teams had solid showings at a meet hosted by Fargo Oak Grove at Concordia College this past weekend.
The Hi-Liner girls had 24 placewinners and qualified three events for the state meet. Morgan Larson qualified in the 100 meters, the 200 meters, and as part of the 800-meter relay, which won the meet championship.
Layni Bakalar, Brynn Lueck and Chensey Thomsen rounded out the 800-meter relay team. Lueck added a third place finish in the 800-meter run.
Cadence Fetsch placed fourth in the 800-meter run and was part of a 1600-meter relay that placed fourth.
Jovi Borg placed third in discus, Jaisa Lassiter placed second in the 300-meter hurdles and 4th in the 100-meter hurdles.
Greta Goven won the championship in the 800-meter run.
The boys had 19 place winners and placed fifth as a team. Scot Rohde led the way with a championship in javelin, a third place finish in discus, and a fifth in shotput. Owen Hunt finished second in discus and sixth in shotput.
Jayden Suhr, Isaac Norby, Hunter Undem, and Derek Shape placed second in the 800-meter relay.
Adrian Rivera placed third in the 400-meter dash, and the team of Zach Giesler, Jake Anderson, Se’vyon Lee, and Koltyn Grebel placed sixth in the 400-meter relay.
The Hi-Liners are at VCSU on Thursday and UND on Saturday.
