VALLEY CITY – Both Jamestown Blue Jay Track & Field teams won the VCSU High School Open on Thursday at Lokken Stadium.

The Blue Jay girls edged Valley City 112 1/2 to 111 1/2.  Jamestown’s boys scored 150 points, 46 more than LaMoure-Litchville/Marion.

Julia Skari won both hurdles events for Jamestown’s girls, taking the 100 meter hurdles in 16.09 and the 300 meter hurdles in 48.20.

Layna Hoffer cleared five feet, one inch to win the high jump.

Finishing second were Claire Hoffer in the 800 meters, Layna Hoffer in the pole vault as she cleared nine feet, and Hayden Olson in the triple jump.

Two relay teams were winners for the Blue Jay boys.  Aiden Skari, Noah Lynch, Ryan Kallenbach and Brady Harty won the 4×200 in 1:34.25.  The 4×400 relay team of Gradin Thorlakson, Lynch, Skari and Harty won in 3:31.82.  Harty leaped 42 feet, 10 inches to win the triple jump.

Jamestown will compete Saturday at the Fargo Elite Meet.
