VALLEY CITY, ND (NewsDakota.com) The Hi-Liner tennis team had a dual shortened due to rain, but notched another shutout win after their blanking of Wahpeton earlier this week.
Valley City defeated West Fargo 8-0 in EDC tennis Thursday in Valley City.
It was another dominant performance through the lineup. Only one singles match went a third set, with Sara Beierle winning the tiebreak at number-five singles 10-1. The number three doubles match ended early due to rain.
Skye Nielson, Georgia Zaun, Kailee Nielson, and Lexi Svenningsen dropped a combined five games total in one-through-four singles matches.
“Our top four are very good players and proved it today again cruising to wins without dropping more than two games in a set,” said head coach Matt Nielson. “We lost points and games when we had poor footwork and poor racket preparation. There are many good teams in the EDC. To state qualify, we will need to be disciplined and conditioned enough to never take points off when it comes to footwork and racket preparation.”
