
JAMESTOWN – Amelia Newman scored a hat trick and an assist Saturday as Jamestown Blue Jay Girls Soccer, two days after its first loss of the season, routed Williston 8-0 at Rotary Field.
Newman scored in the fourth and seventh minutes, with Gracelin Challeen setting up the first goal and Summer Obenauer assisting on the second.
Layla Becker scored the first of her two goals in the 49th minute, with Obenauer helping.
Newman potted her third in the 51st minute.
Maggie Godboldt scored four minutes later, assisted by Hannah Attleson.
Becker, from Obenauer, tallied again in the 58th minute.
Ella Sedlacek scored the 7-0 goal in the 68th minute from Ellie Willman.
Newman assisted Ellie Krueger’s goal in the 71st minute.
Anna Lunde registered the shutout in net without having to make a save.
The Blue Jays will host Century on Tuesday at Rotary Field.
