
MINOT – Two days after being dropped twice at home by Century, Jamestown Blue Jay Baseball rebounded on the road.
Jamestown swept a doubleheader from Minot North Thursday 7-4 and 9-6 at Corbett Field.
Game 1: Jamestown 7, Minot North 4
Thomas Newman struck out 10 in five innings and hit an RBI single for Jamestown (11-6, 10-5 WDA). Jaxon Kolpin had two hits and two RBI for the Blue Jays. Kale Verke and Bennett Goehner had two hits and an RBI each. Brenner Weber also drove in a run.
Newman allowed two runs and five hits.
Game 2: Jamestown 9, Minot North 6
As Kolpin drove in four runs with a double and two singles, Jamestown (12-6, 11-5 WDA) surged to a 7-0 lead after an inning and a half, then held on.
Goehner and Mason Joseph also drove in runs for the Blue Jays, who stole a whopping 11 bases, including five by Newman.
Winning pitcher Zach Gaiser struck out six in six innings.
Jamestown will step out of WDA play for a doubleheader with Fargo Davies on Saturday at Jack Brown Stadium.
