With celebration for a life well-lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Louie Ronald Cox, a devoted servant of the Lord, on April 26, 2025, at the age of 77. Surrounded by the love of family, Louie transitioned to his eternal Father at his home in Valley City, North Dakota.

For 36 years, Louie faithfully served as a pastor, spreading the Good News and nurturing countless souls. His dedication to education and community was evident during his 43-year tenure as a custodian and bus driver in Southern Illinois and North Dakota.

Louie’s deep love for the Lord shone brightly in his daily life. He also reveled in the great outdoors, finding joy in fishing, hunting, bird watching, and collecting guns. His kind heart and quick wit—often showcased through favorite jokes like, “Why did the banana go to the doctor? He wasn’t peeling well!”—brought laughter to everyone around him. And who could forget his trusty fart machine, which never failed to make him (and everyone else) laugh? His genuine love for others and infectious humor made him a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

Louie is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Wanda Faye Cox.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aline and Dean Cox, and brothers Gary Cox and Ralph Cox.

He is survived by his children: Kevin Cox, Amy Cox, Robin Heitz, and Jeff Munzlinger;
