JAMESTOWN – There will be a journey ahead for University of Jamestown Softball in its quest to make its second NAIA World Series appearance.

Opening round pairings for the 2025 NAIA Softball Championship were announced Wednesday.  The Jimmies will head to Klamath Falls, Oregon and play Arizona Christian on Monday at John and Lois Stillwell Stadium.

Oregon Tech, the second-ranked team in the country in the final regular season coaches poll, is hosting this five-team double-elimination event.

Jamestown is the fourth seed and 35-15 after winning the NSAA championship last Sunday for the program’s first NAIA tournament berth since 2018.

Arizona Christian, the fifth seed, is 27-24 and won the Great Southwest Athletic Conference tournament on May 1.  The Firestorm were the third seed in the tournament and eliminated top seed Hope International before defeating Park Gilbert once and Embry-Riddle twice to win the GSAC championship for the first time since 2016.

Top seed Oregon Tech (42-9), who has made the NAIA World Series the last two seasons and won the 2011 national championship, was eliminated by the University of British Columbia at home on Sunday in the Cascade Conference Championship.

Southeastern University (FL), ranked 15th, is the second seed.  The Fire are 40-9 after losing Saturday to St. Thomas (FL) in the Sun Conference championship game.

A former GPAC foe of the Jimmies, Midland, is the third seed.  The 21st-ranked Warriors (37-15) were eliminated by Dordt last Friday in the GPAC Championship and make the NAIA tournament for the seventh straight season.

The winner of this and the nine other opening round sites will play in the NAIA World Series, which begins Thursday, May 22 in Columbus, Georgia.

Coverage of Monday’s game will begin at 12:45 PM on The Voice of the Jimmies, Jamestown 107.1.
