
JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Blue Jay Baseball moved one win closer to clinching a top six position in the WDA Thursday with a 3-2 win in game one of a doubleheader with Williston at Jack Brown Stadium. The Coyotes won game two 11-4.
Game 1: Jamestown 3, Williston 2
Bennett Goehner drove in all three runs for the Blue Jays (14-7, 12-7 WDA). Goehner had a two-run first inning single and an RBI groundout in the fifth.
Thomas Newman, Braxton Perkins and Jaxon Kolpin combined on a four-hitter.
Game 2: Williston 11, Jamestown 4
Collin McCuistion homered and drove in three runs for Williston (15-7, 11-7 WDA) as the Coyotes led 7-0 through two and a half innings.
Jamestown (14-8, 12-8) committed four errors. Newman had two singles, two RBI and two stolen bases.
Jamestown will close the regular season Monday with a doubleheader against Legacy at Jack Brown Stadium. With one win, the Blue Jays would clinch a top six position and avoid next week’s West Region play-in game.
