JAMESTOWN – Even when their offense was mostly shut down, the Williston Coyotes still had enough to top Jamestown Blue Jay Softball Thursday.  Then, the offense came around and the Coyotes completed a sweep.

Williston defeated Jamestown 1-0 in 10 innings and 13-3 in five innings in a doubleheader at Trapper Lawrence Field.

Game 1: Williston 1, Jamestown 0 (10)
Alana Thomas (10-2) struck out 15 in a three-hit shutout, outlasting Jamestown starter Maddie Hoff (7-6), who struck out 10.

Williston (20-3, 13-2 WDA) scored the game’s only run with an RBI single by Rylee Irgens in the top of the 10th inning, bringing in Julie Heller, who had doubled.

Jamestown (14-10-1, 7-8) left the bases loaded in the third inning. Jordan Mikkelson had two of the Blue Jays’ three hits.

Game 2: Williston 13, Jamestown 3 (5)
Irgens hit her 11th home run as part of a six-run fifth inning that broke the game open for Williston (21-3, 14-2 WDA).

Lola Senderhauf drove in two runs for the Coyotes. Mekiah Klumker (9-1) threw a four-hitter.

Jaelyn Sloan (7-4) lost in the circle for Jamestown (14-11-1, 7-9), who committed six errors. Sophia Bond hit an RBI single.

The Blue Jays will host West Fargo in their final home game Monday at Trapper Lawrence Field.
