DICKINSON – Five Jamestown Jimmies became conference champions and three secured spots in the NAIA meet in the final NSAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which concluded Friday at the Biesiot Activities Center at Dickinson State University.

In the team standings, the Jimmie men were third with 143.5 points.  Jamestown’s women tallied 100 points and tied for third.

Dawson Sedivec won the hammer throw and qualified for the NAIA championship by breaking his own school record, throwing 59.70m (195 feet, 10 inches).  This is the fourth-best throw in the NAIA this season.  Sedivec shared the honors of NSAA Field Athlete of the Year with Kohbe Smith of Dickinson State.

Ashton Judge won the long jump and also qualified for the NAIA championship.  His jump was 7.32m (24 feet, 1/4 inch).

Cole Campbell won the 3000m steeplechase in 9:48.32, a personal best time.

Ethan Duval won the high jump with a personal best 1.96m (six feet, five inches).  Riley Johnson finished third in a personal best 1.91m (six feet, three and a quarter inches).

Tyler Dean also had a win and a personal best.  His throw of 47.72m (156 feet, seven inches) won the discus.

Jamestown’s 4×100 relay team was second.  Connor Knatterud, Xander Rath, Cael Church and Avery Ligon ran in 42.39 seconds.

The Jimmie men were third in the 4×800 relay, as Lucas Dahl, Samuel Sampers, Kadin Marshall and Cole Campbell ran in 8:16.21.

For the UJ women, Paige Erhardt qualified for the NAIA championship in the high jump, finishing third at 1.66m (five feet, five and a quarter inches) and setting a personal best.  Erhardt also was third in the 100m hurdles in 15.52.

In the 3000m steeplechase, Lilly Petty was third at 12:20.64.

Kirsten Vander Kooi placed third in the 5000m at 19:38.95.

Jennifer Tallackson also had a third place finish.  She timed 43:28.85 in the 10,000m.

Cambrie Fischer was third in the javelin at 37.04m (121 feet, six inches).

Ruth Harris cleared 3.20m (10 feet, six inches) for third in the pole vault.

UJ’s 4×100 women’s relay team of Sara Bonn, Fischer, Erhardt and Monica Goven finished third in 51.85 seconds.

Also third was the 4×800 relay team of Petty, Allyson Goodmanson, Tallackson and Vander Kooi in 11:57.82.

Sedivec, Judge and Erhardt will compete in the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships May 21-23 in Marion, Indiana.
