NEW ROCKFORD (NewsDakota)- A six-run comeback, a three-error little league home run, and a pitcher hitting the walk-off to earn his first career win.

And that was just the appetizer.

Carrington and Kidder County will meet in the Region 3B play-in game on Wednesday, but on Monday, the decisive swing came off the bat of Cardinal freshman Jameson Kutz, who delivered a game-ending sac fly in the seventh to clinch the four-seed in the Region with a wild 8-7 win over the Wolves in the region finale.

The game started well for Carrington (4-12, 3-5) with Tate Wolsky lacing a two-run triple in the first and a four-run third giving them a 6-0 lead.  But the Wolves (1-12, 1-7) stormed back, thanks to a three-run fourth in which a ground ball to the right side of the infield turned into a three-error, two run little league home run to cut the lead to 6-2.  After scoring twice in the fifth and sixth, Kidder County had a 7-6 lead.

But the Cardinals responded as Wolsky drove home Whitman with his second triple of the game to tie the game at 7.  Then, in the seventh, Ethan Roller tripled to lead off the inning and after James Rau flied out, Kutz delivered a sacrifice fly to left to score Roller and win the game despite Carrington committing eight errors in the game.

Carrington wrap up the regular season in Tolna against Nelson County/Midkota on Tuesday with coverage on KDAK The Cardinal beginning at 4:15PM.
