BISMARCK – A split was still good enough for the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

Jamestown split a doubleheader with Legacy at the Sanford Sports Complex to end the regular season.  The Blue Jays rallied from 2-0 down to win the opener 5-3, assuring that Jamestown will not have to play in the West Region play-in game on Monday.  Legacy stormed back to win game two 21-11.

Game 1: Jamestown 5, Legacy 3
Avery Graves hit a two-run double in a three-run fifth inning to bring Jamestown in front to stay.

Megan Jarrett drove in the first run for Jamestown (16-11-1, 8-9 WDA) with a single just before Graves’ double.

The Blue Jays expanded their lead to 5-2 in the sixth on an RBI double by winning pitcher Maddie Hoff and a sacrifice fly by Brynn Sorenson.

Hoff (9-6) struck out 10 and pitched a four-hitter.

Game 2: Legacy 21, Jamestown 11
Legacy rallied from a 5-0 deficit and rapped out 20 hits.

Rawling Borseth homered, doubled, singled and drove in six runs for the Sabers. Aurora Boe and Paisley Lessard each drove in three runs.

Sorenson and Brooke Jackson each drove in two runs for Jamestown (16-12-1, 8-10 WDA). Avery Graves homered.

The Blue Jays will next play in the quarterfinal round of the West Region tournament on Thursday, May 22 in Minot.  Jamestown is the sixth seed and will open play against the third seed, either Bismarck High or Dickinson.
