VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A semi traveling westbound on Highway 46 in Barnes County lost control and left the roadway and overturned, spilling its load of grain in the ditch on Friday, May 9th. 

The Highway Patrol said once first responders arrived on the scene, the driver ran into a field. The male driver was located by troopers and he was allegedly heavily intoxicated and refused sobriety testing according the the trooper. 

The man was arrested and now faces several charges including DUI, DUI-Refusal, and failure to give immediate notice and failure to maintain lane.

No details about the crash have been released by the Highway Patrol or the Barnes County Sheriff’s office.
