VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Barnes County Commission rescinded their burn ban issued earlier this week after conditions improved with some precipitation in the county.

Emergency Manager Jessica Jenrich said the county received a significant amount of rain so as of Friday, May 16, 2025 the burn ban is rescinded.

Barnes County 9-1-1 Supervisor Sarah Miller said residents have to call the dispatch center for any controlled burn. To reach the Barnes County dispatch center call 845-8181.
