BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nations purchased 2,100 acres of land from a former ranch to establish the Three Affiliated Tribes National Park. This area is next to Fort Berthold’s boundaries and on the South side of the Little Missouri River, this area was originally in the tribes treaty but a government allotment act reduced the size.

Tribal Chairman Mark Fox said, “The goal is to establish a park for recreational purposes such as canoeing, kayaking, and viewing wildlife”.
