
BISMARCK (NewsDakota)- After a year’s hiatus, the LaMoure-LME Loboes are back in the Class B State Tournament after a 13-3 six inning win over New Rockford/Sheyenne in the Region 3B Championship on Thursday at the Sanford Sports Complex in the Capital City.
Championship: (1) LaMoure-LM 13 (3) New Rockford-Sheyenne 3 (6)
A four-run third inning created separation and the Loboes are back in the state tournament. Colby Thielges scored three runs and pitched five innings in the win and Mason Warcken drove home three runs, including the walk-off HBP in the sixth. Thomas Allmaras and Bradyn Collier had RBIs for New Rockford-Sheyenne.
Semifinal: (1) LaMoure-LME 4 (3) New Rockford-Sheyenne 1
Owen Lesko dominated on the mound as the Loboes returned to the Regional Final. He allowed just five hits and a run while walking two and striking out seven. Damian Carlson drove home two in the win. The Rockets got an RBI hit from Alex Weisenberger in the first in defeat.
Semifinal: (3) New Rockford-Sheyenne 7 (2) South Border 5
A four-run sixth inning on just two hits sent the Rockets back to the Regional Final. Layton Jacobson had two hits and a run scored as the Rockets sent nine to the plate in the decisive frame. Parker Salwei had two hits and two runs scored for the Mustangs in the loss.
The Loboes will learn their opponent and time for their Class B Quarterfinal at Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo on Saturday night. All games will be heard on KDDR The Tornado.
