
MARION, IND. – Valley City State University’s Kendra Odegard earned her second place at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships. Odegard’s second place finish earns her third straight year of All-American honors.
Odegard threw 44.55 meters (145 feet, 2 inches) in the women’s javelin. Placing second out of 27 competitors. The Top 8 finishers are named All-American.
Odegard is from Lisbon, ND.
In her career Odegard has now qualified for nationals in all four years competing in the javelin and is a three time All-American. She had finished, fourteenth (2022), fourth (2023), sixth (2024), and second (2025) at nationals in the javelin.
Entering the meet Odegard ranked ninth in the nation after qualifying with a 42.10-meter throw. The champion at the national meet – Maddy Wolf of Kansas Wesleyan – had a winning throw of 44.65 meters.
