LINTON, N.D. (KFGO) – The body of a missing Linton, North Dakota woman has been found.

The Emmons County Sheriff’s Office says the body of 39-year-old Heather Caras was discovered late Sunday morning on May 25th by a farmer in a corn field. The body was partially decomposed.

The sheriff’s office and agents with the state Bureau of Criminal Investigation responded to process the scene. The medical examiner’s office in Grand Forks will conduct an autopsy.

The body of Caras was discovered a couple of miles from where pickup was found abandoned near Beaver Bay on the Missouri River in late January.

Early in the investigation, there were indications that Caras left her home willingly and a crime was not suspected in her disappearance.
