WEST FARGO – One shot made the difference in Jamestown’s bid to defeat the defending girls soccer champions.

Quinn Skari scored in the 61st minute Thursday to give Davies a 1-0 win over Jamestown in the quarterfinal round of the NDHSAA Girls Soccer Championship at Sheyenne High School’s Essentia Health Mustang Stadium.

Jamestown (9-5-3) had a great chance in the last seconds, but it was stopped by Davies goalkeeper Nora Benson.

Davies (11-2-2) had 13 shots to 10 for the Blue Jays.  Jamestown goalkeeper Anna Lunde made seven saves.

On Friday, Jamestown will meet Grand Forks Central in the second consolation semifinal at 2:15 PM, with the winner to play for fifth place on Saturday.
