JAMESTOWN – Already a busy man, Tim Ranum now will have even more to do.

Ranum was named Thursday as the head coach of Jamestown Blue Jay Boys Basketball.  Ranum also serves as the head coach for Jamestown baseball and boys tennis and also is an English instructor at Jamestown High School.

For the last two seasons, Ranum has been an assistant on the boys basketball staff.  He is a former head coach at Carrington, where he led the Cardinal boys for seven seasons, including to the Region 3B championship in 2018.  Twice Ranum was named as the district coach of the year.

In a news release, Jamestown High School activities director Jim Roaldson said, “We are very excited to see what the next steps are for Blue Jay Boys Basketball under Tim’s leadership. Tim has worked hard within the program these past couple of seasons and I expect that his teams will play with enthusiasm, a love for the game while having a disciplined approach.”
