GRAND FORKS (NewsDakota)- The Jamestown Blue Jays saw their baseball season come to an end Friday in the consolation semifinals of the NDHSAA Division “A” State Tournament. Horace tallied 13 hits and Cason Borchardt struck out eight for an 11-1 Hawks win.

Ethan Oettle accounted for all the Jamestown (17-12) scoring with a solo homer over the left center wall in the second inning. Jamestown had just two hits in the game against the lefty Borchardt, who needed less than 80 pitches to complete five innings.

Oettle had a tremendous day in the field as well, including a diving play at second base and three assists overall.

The Hawks lineup was led by Borchardt’s 3-for-4 performance and back-to-back doubles by Jett Collins in the leadoff spot.
