FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – In a powerful tribute to American patriotism, SCHEELS and the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association (CVMA) are teaming up to celebrate Flag Day with a statewide motorcycle ride and flag exchange event.
Over the course of two days (June 12-13th), the CVMA will ride to all five SCHEELS locations across North Dakota, hosting flag exchange events at each stop. Community members are invited to bring their worn, torn, or tattered American flags and exchange them for brand-new flags—free of charge.
Do you ride? ALL motorcyclists from across the region are welcome to join any leg of the ride. This unique event offers riders a chance to show their patriotic spirit while supporting a meaningful cause. See the full schedule below to find your local stop.
Flag Day, observed annually on June 14, commemorates the adoption of the American flag in 1777. All collected flags will be respectfully retired during a flag retirement ceremony on Saturday, June 14 at 2:00 p.m. at SCHEELS Home & Hardware in Fargo, ND. The ceremony will be conducted by the CVMA and the Fargo Memorial Honor Guard. The public is encouraged to attend and witness the proper, honorable retirement of our nation’s flags.
