
VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The road to the World Championship Soap Box Derby held each year in Akron, Ohio began June 7th on Central Avenue in Valley City, North Dakota.
The girls ruled this year in both categories as an 8-year-old from Columbus, Ohio captured the Stock Division while a 12-year-old from Valley City grabbed the top spot in the Superstock Division in the 2025 race.

6th – #136 – Evelyn Nelson, age 8, Valley City
7th – #164 – Courtland Maas, age 8, Valley City
8th – #120 – Kasen Andel, age 7, Tower City, ND

1st – #323 – Keighty Harris, age 12, Valley City
2nd – #228 – Cambri Pfennig, age 14, Valley City

The Lloyd Miller Award went to Brady Henke. It is an award dedicated to Lloyd Miller who was a big advocate for the Soapbox derby and showed the true value of sportsmanship, hard work, and dedication to bettering the club.
