JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce the promotion of Tammy Mewes to the position of Assistant Facility Manager at the Two Rivers Activity Center (TRAC).
Tammy brings a strong background in recreation programming and leadership to this role. She began her journey at TRAC in 2017 as the Learning Center Supervisor, where she was instrumental in developing high-quality youth programming and early learning initiatives. Her dedication to community engagement and excellence in programming led to her transition to Jamestown Parks and Recreation as the Programs and Special Events Manager, where she continued to lead successful community events and recreational programs.
Now stepping into her new position as TRAC Assistant Manager, Tammy will oversee key departments within the facility—including aquatics, the OnTRAC Learning Center, and TRAC’s recreational programs. She will be responsible for managing daily operations, staffing, budgeting, and delivering engaging programs that reflect the mission and values of TRAC and Jamestown Parks and Recreation.
“Tammy has shown unwavering commitment to providing exceptional recreational experiences for our community,” said Amy Walters, JPRD Executive Director. “Her leadership, energy, and passion for service make her the ideal person to work alongside Boya Quichocho, TRAC Facility Manager, to guide TRAC into its next phase of growth.” This new role aligns with JPRD’s core values of Community, Excellence, Integrity,
Accessibility, Ongoing Improvement, and FUN, and reflects the organization’s ongoing efforts to foster leadership from within.
This transition reflects JPRD’s commitment to placing strong, experienced leaders where they can have the greatest impact. With Tammy’s deep knowledge of both TRAC operations and community programming, she is uniquely positioned to help enhance and expand services for TRAC members and guests.
