
VALLEY CITY, N.D. (VCBCDC) – Todd Ingstad and Kandice Phagens are the newest board members to join the Valley City Barnes County Development Corporation.
Some of the items the board is working on include moving forward with the natural gas line extension under Interstate 94 along 8 Avenue Southeast in Valley City.
Recently announced was the Single Family Home Buyer Assistance Program officially launched on May 21, 2025, and is already seeing high interest and response rates from the community. New homes are being built in Valley City and Barnes County by new and existing residents, which was what this program was intended to do.

And the Image Enhancement Grant, funded through sales tax funds, the Image Enhancement Grant through the City of Valley City is intended to assist qualified businesses with improvements that enhance the overall image of the community.
This grant program provides up to 50% of the project cost with a maximum of $7,500 ($2,000 limit for sign replacement). For those looking to maintain/restore the historical appearance of their building, the grant can cover up to 50% of the project cost with a maximum of $30,000 (preservation guidelines can be found on the City website). Projects must be visible from Main Street or Central Avenue and cannot be for landscaping.
