LETHBRIDGE, AB – Despite scoring in bunches, that effort wasn’t enough to prevent two more defeats for the Jamestown Eagles.

The Eagles lost their fourth and fifth straight games Saturday, losing 8-7 to AHP Rustlers Black and 13-8 to the Calgary Cubs in the Mary Oikawa Memorial Tournament at Spitz Stadium.

AHP Rustlers Black 8, Jamestown 7
AHP Rustlers Black held on after once having a 6-1 lead. Jamestown (5-7) cut the margin to 6-4 with three in the fourth inning on an error, an RBI single by Mason Joesph and a balk.

After AHP Rustlers Black extended their lead to 8-4 in the top of the seventh, the Eagles scored three more in the bottom of the seventh. Kale Verke singled in two and Bennett Goehner drove in the final run with his third hit of the game. Jaxon Kolpin then grounded out to end the game, leaving the tying and winning runs on base.

Edison Walters allowed six runs in four innings.

Calgary Cubs 13, Jamestown 8
Six Eagles runs in the second inning provided a great start, but the Cubs closed the gap to 7-6 after three.

Jamestown (5-8) led 8-6 before the Cubs scored four in the fifth inning and three in the sixth.

AJ Weimer had two hits and three RBI for Calgary.

Verke drove in two for the Eagles, who also had RBI from Ethan Oettle, Walters and Hudson Rode.
