FARGO, N.D. (CCSO) – Cass County is working closely with our partners at the City of Fargo, State Department of Emergency Services (DES), local school districts and other local governments in continuing disaster assessment and recovery efforts across areas impacted by the Friday, June 20th storms.

As of 12:00 p.m. Sunday, June 22nd volunteers are needed in the City of Hunter. Anyone interested in assisting with the cleanup efforts is asked to contact Volunteer Coordinators Brad Bateman: (701-430-3596) or Sean Richardson (701-367-2128) prior to arrival to ensure an organized effort.

Meanwhile, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office was also dispatched to a structure fire in rural Enderlin, ND. When the deputy arrived, a shop on the property was fully engulfed. The shop was used to store vehicles, and no people were inside during the fire. This property lost power after the tornado had come through the area. The cause of the fire was attributed to a generator being used to supply temporary power to the property. There were no reported injuries to first responders or the homeowner, however, the shop appears to be a total loss.

The Enderlin, Alice, and Lisbon Fire Departments responded to the scene. No further information is available at this time.

More information will be released via press release and through social media as conditions and activities are updated.
