VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers closed several campsites at its Lake Ashtabula campgrounds near Valley City last week due to storm damage. But more campsites have been reopened following storm damage cleanup efforts.
Lake Ashtabula site manager Scott Tichy had this update on the campsite situation heading into one of their busiest weekends of the year. He said be patient with people at the boat ramps this coming holiday weekend.
Once again, the front loop of Eggerts Landing will open on Wednesday, but the back loop will remain closed until further notice due to storm damage.
Tichy said we kindly ask that people refrain from visiting closed campsites until the storm debris is cleared away. The Lake Ashtabula camping season runs through September 30.
