VALLEY CITY, N.D. (VCPR) – Valley City Parks and Recreation (VCPR) is excited to announce the 2025 July Celebration, a month-long lineup of fun-filled activities and community events designed to celebrate National Parks and Recreation Month and encourage residents to get outdoors, stay active, and connect with one another.

This July, you can enjoy free yoga in the park every Monday at 6:00 PM at City Park, free outdoor aqua fit at 6:00 PM at the Outdoor Pool, and kids golf for free on Tuesday mornings at Bjornson Golf Course if they tee off before noon (16 and under).

There will also be a 4×4 co-ed sand volleyball tournament held on Saturday, July 12th at Chautauqua Park and a doubles pickle ball tournament held on Friday, July 25th , at the brand new outdoor pickle ball courts.

“We’re excited to bring another July Celebration lineup to the community this year!” Matt Brandvold of VCPR says. “It’s always such a fun-filled month with tons of ways to get out and get active!”

The BBQ Pulled Pork Cook-off is happening Thursday, July 10th , from 4:30 – 6:00 PM during Summer Nights on Central. Businesses will go head-to-head to show off their most prized pulled pork recipes and battle for the title of best pulled pork. There is a meal option ($5) and a double option ($12).

Safety in the Park at Chautauqua Park and the Block Party are joining forces together this year on Tuesday, July 29th from 4:30 – 6:00pm. Meet local fire, police, ambulance, and sheriff departments, explore emergency vehicles up close, and ask questions. where businesses booths will have activities and freebies. There will be a free-will walking taco dinner served at the park as well as inflatables and prizes! This is a perfect way to learn about our area first responders and have fun together!
