JAMESTOWN (NewsDakota)- That’s how you celebrate the holiday.

Bennett Goehner delivered a walk-off sacrifice fly in the last of the eighth inning and the Jamestown Eagles won their third straight with a 4-3 win over Midway-Minto on Friday in the opener of the 2025 Phil Brown Classic.

Mason Joseph opened the scoring for the Eagles (9-16) with a squeeze in the second inning, but Post 201 took a 2-1 lead in the sixth.  Hudson Rode then tied the game in the home sixth with a single to score Thomas Newman and leveled the game at 2.

That forced extra innings, and after Trenton Sitzer plated the go-ahead run with a single, Jamestown answered as Newman plated courtesy runner Adam Sortland to tie the game before Goehner scored Nolan Maulding, who had walked earlier in the inning to win it.

The Eagles game with Bonivital (MB) was postponed to Saturday due to weather and will begin at 2:45pm.
