Lisbon, ND (NewsDakota.com) – Oakes Post 36 is now officially out of the running for the top spot in the District as they fell to Lisbon Post 7 by a final score of 7-4. Post 36 struggled to keep the bats alive and gave up several runs due to throwing errors to allow Lisbon the lead late.

The game started well for both starting pitchers with Jordyn Bittner and James Throener makin quick work of both teams batters in the 1st inning. However Bittner would begin to lose command in the 2nd inning giving up a single and 3 walks as Oakes would take the lead off of a throwing error by the catcher to take a 1-0 lead going to the bottom of the second. Lisbon would respond however as Throener would hit a batter. This would be followed by an E2 and an E1 and culminated with a RBI single to tie the game at 1-1 through 2. Lisbon would take the lead in the 3rd with a Sac Fly to make it 2-1.

Oakes would reclaim the lead in the 4th as they would chase Bittner who would walk 2 straight, strike out 2, then walk 2 more before giving up a 2 RBI single to give Oakes the 4-2 lead. The response would come in the 5th inning for Post 7 as they would score 5 runs on 3 hits and a costly error that made only 2 of those runs earned runs giving Lisbon what would ultimately be the final score of 7-4.

The winning pitcher would be Lincoln Adair (2.1 IP, 1 H, 2 BB, 3 K, 0 R) who relieved starter Jordyn Bittner (3.2 IP, 3 H, 7 BB, 6 K, 4 R, 3 ER) and was relived by Cam Cordero (1.0 IP, 2 K, 0 R). The losing pitcher would be James Throener (5.0 IP, 7 H, 1 BB, 2 K, 7 R, 3 ER).
