legion-3

CARRINGTON (NewsDakota)- Sometimes, you can lose a game in the very first inning, and Carrington learned that lesson on Tuesday as a four-run first inning lifted Sheyenne-New Rockford to a 6-2 win over Post 25 on Tuesday in the regular season finale for both teams.

The Black Sox (8-12, 5-3) sent ten to the plate in the big opening frame, scoring the runs on just two hits against Carrington starter Max Whitman, who needed 45 pitches in the inning.  Carrington (2-6) would answer with a run in the home half on a wild pitch that scored Josh Bickett.

But SNR starter Easton Simon limited Carrington to seven hits in the complete game win.  Jacob Boeshans went four innings in relief for Carrington, allowing four hits and an unearned run while striking out three.

Post 25 are the 5-seed in the District IV Tournament in Wishek which begins Monday with coverage of the entire tournament beginning at 10:45am Monday on Thunder Country 98.3.
