riverfest-2

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakotaa.com) – Grab your kayak or canoe and join an anticipated 200 fellow paddlers for Sheyenne RiverFest 2025—the Sheyenne River Valley’s biggest and most exciting water event—on
Saturday, August 2nd.

The event kicks off with registration at 8:30 a.m. at the National Fish Hatchery (11515 River Road Valley City, ND), followed by a group launch at 10:00 a.m.. The 45 minute to 1.5 hour float concludes at Chautauqua Park, where there will be food trucks including Grand Junction, Doodling Dixies, Monkey Balls, Brockopp Brewing, inflatables for the kids, and the Valley Park Craft & Vendor Show featuring local vendors already 40 registered with items like wine, candles, soaps, embroidery, fishing lures, freeze dried goods, home decor, clothing, jewelry, and so much more!

Registration is open through the start of the event (walk up registrations are cash or check only, online registrations can be made with card if there is cell phone service available), but early registration is encouraged. Register before July 27th and receive a free raffle ticket entry to be put in to win prizes including a kayak, grill, patio set, cooler, kayak cooler, gift cards, and more. Early registration is also the best way to guarantee your 2025 event t-shirt.

Raffle tickets are being sold around Valley City and can be found at the Gaukler Family Wellness Center, Rosebud Visitor Center, and other locations as well as from committee members.

Single registration is $20, while households (up to 6 people, max 2 adults) can register for $50. Register online at vcparks.com

More than just a fun day on the water, Sheyenne RiverFest plays an important role in the ongoing development of the Sheyenne River Water Trail, which is working toward becoming North Dakota’s first nationally recognized water trail. Raffle proceeds support efforts to improve signage, develop river landings with restrooms and camping options, and install accessible docking systems—making the river more enjoyable for paddlers of all ages and abilities.

On August 2nd, a shuttle service will run from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Participants are to drop off their watercraft at the Fish Hatchery, then park at Chautauqua Park and ride the shuttle back to the launch site. This way, your vehicle will be waiting at the float’s end. Whether you’re paddling or just soaking up the festival fun, Sheyenne RiverFest is a celebration of community, outdoor adventure, and the natural beauty of the Sheyenne River Valley. Questions?
