DETROIT LAKES, MN (NewsDakota)- A pitchers’ duel turned into another disappointing loss for the Jamestown Eagles.

Six runs in the final three at-bats lifted Fergus Falls to a 6-2 win over Jamestown in the opening game of the Detroit Lakes Water Carnival Tournament at Washington Park on Friday.

Zach Geiser and Fergus Falls’ Jacob Fronning hung zeroes until the bottom of the fourth inning when Parker Thielke doubled before an error allowed a run to score and a double steal made it 3-0.

In the fifth, more problems for Jamestown (11-25) as Hunter Powers lifted a solo home run to make it 4-0.  Fergus Falls would add two more in the win.  Jamestown got two hits from Jaxon Kolpin in defeat.

The Eagles continue play in the Detroit Lakes Water Carnival Tournament on Saturday at 9am facing West St. Paul, MN.
