WISHEK (NewsDakota)- The 2025 District IV Tournament begins in Wishek on Monday with opening round games and a primetime elimination game with coverage of the entire tournament on Thunder Country 98.3. Stay tuned on this page for updates throughout the day.
GAME ONE: (5) Carrington 12 (4) Kidder County 7
An early onslaught was enough for Carrington to advance past Kidder County 12-7. Post 25 scored the games’ first ten runs thanks to three hits and three RBI from Max Whitman and two hits and three RBI from Jacob Boeshans. Josh Bickett reached base five times and scored four runs in the win. Connor Wolfer had two hits and scored two runs for Kidder County.
GAME TWO: (3) Linton-Ashley-Wishek 4 (2) Sheyenne-New Rockford 3
Berkley Frantz starred as the Rattlers won their first ever opening round game of a district tournament. He tossed a complete game while striking out nine and launched the go-ahead 2-run homer in the sixth to break a 2-2 tie as LAW advanced to Tuesday. Easton Simon and Alex Weisenberger had fourth inning RBI for the Black Sox, who face Kidder County later tonight.
GAME THREE: (1) Edgeley 2 (5) Carrington 1
A two-run bottom of the seventh inning finally broke through for the district’s top seed as Edgeley walked off Carrington for a second time this season. Brady Hanson’s infield single scored courtesy runner Colin Barnick to win the game after Damian Carlson tossed a complete game and struck out ten. Jacob Boeshans went the distance for Carrington, carrying the shutout until the seventh inning and Jameson Kutz had an RBI on a hit by pitch in the first.
GAME FOUR (Elimination Game): (2) Sheyenne-New Rockford 5 (4) Kidder County 1
After Preston Fischer led off the game with a home run for Kidder County, Skye Kramlich allowed no more as the Black Sox advanced with a 5-1 win. Meanwhile, Connor Knatterud and Alex Weisenberger had first inning RBI hits as Sheyenne-New Rockford scored three in the first and two in the third. Kramlich got the win, going five innings while striking out six.
