
JAMESTOWN (NewsDakota)- Despite how difficult the 2025 Jamestown Eagles season has been, seeding was on the line in the regular season finale on Thursday as Jamestown were swept in AA play against Dickinson at Jack Brown Stadium.
GAME ONE: Dickinson 9 Jamestown 7
The Roughriders came back from an early 5-1 deficit for the win. Bennett Goehner and Jaxon Kolpin both had three hits and Goehner scored three runs for the Eagles, but the rest of the lineup only had two hits total. Jake Baillet scored three runs for Dickinson, who scored the go-ahead runs in the sixth inning.
GAME TWO: Dickinson 8 Jamestown 3 F/10
A five-run tenth inning lifted the Roughriders to a sweep. Edison Walters had a two-run single and scored on a Mason Joseph single in the fourth, but Jamestown would not score again as Dickisnon scored five runs in the tenth, highlighted by a two-run single by Camden Kubas.
The Eagles (12-29-1) will open the AA State Tournament in Williston on Monday in a play-in game as the 10-seed, taking on the 7-seed Williston Keybirds on Jamestown 107.1 with coverage beginning at 6:45pm.
