JAMESTOWN, N.D. (JCF) -The Jamestown Community Foundation recently awarded a $10,000 grant to the James River Senior Center and Public Transit towards construction of an addition and remodeling to the building they have purchased for their new permanent location in northeast Jamestown.
This project will allow for the implementation of several new services for seniors that the Senior Center can provide to the community and space enough to house all of their needs/storage. The new building will provide much better safety for their clients because it will include ADA accessibility, a large paved parking lot right outside their doors, and no carpets on the floors throughout the building. Other agencies who provide legal aid, foot care, etc. to the clients will have the added space to provide these services within separate areas. The Senior Center has undertaken a major fundraising campaign to accomplish all of these goals, and community donations would be greatly appreciated. Either mail them to the Senior Center at P.O. Box 1092, Jamestown, ND 58402, or drop them by the current Senior Center at the Legacy Center (the old Jamestown Hospital).
