LAMOURE (NewsDakota)- The Park River Pirates have won six consecutive elimination games to win the program’s third state championship, matching Kindred for the most in Babe Ruth baseball since 2013.

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME ONE: Park River 3 Casselton 1

Wyatt Carlson delivered a complete game six-hitter and Connor Bernhoft had two hits, a run scored, and an RBI as the Pirates forced a decisive game with their fifth consecutive win in elimination games.  Bernhoft and Jaxon Omdahl scored in the first and after adding a run in the third, Carlson did the rest.  Kellen Cruchet was 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Black Stockings.

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME TWO: Park River 7 Casselton 1

A six-run third inning blew the game open as the Pirates defeated Casselton to win the state title.  Park River got two RBI hits from Colton Gravelin (double) and Luke Beneda (single).  Connor Bernhoft tossed a complete game for the win and scored two runs.  Jackson Deutsch tossed four shutout innings for the Black Stockings.
