Robert “Bob” Walker, 79, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at his home in Jamestown, ND, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with leukemia. He will be deeply missed.

Bob was born Sept. 10, 1945, in Jamestown, North Dakota, to Edward and Bertha (Opp) Walker. After graduating from West Fargo High School in 1963, he served in the United States Air Force. He later lived in Seattle, Washington, where he worked for the Boeing Company. He returned to Jamestown and married Ardelle on Nov. 26, 1993.

Bob spent many years working as a caregiver at the North Dakota State Hospital and Alpha Opportunities. Even into his final days, he remained active and hard-working, serving as the manager of the Dewey Apartments in Jamestown until the week before his passing.

He was a man of many talents and passions. He cherished time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and rarely missed their events or family gatherings. Just last year, he traveled to Nashville to celebrate New Year’s Eve with family. He enjoyed fishing, working outdoors, and relaxing on the patio he built himself. He loved watching the geese along the river at Klaus Park and was particularly fond of classic cars—most recently owning a BMW Z4 convertible. His loyal dog, Bailey, was his constant companion.

Bob is survived by his stepchildren, Mark (Linda) Kelly, Tracy (Randy) Neva, Pat (Tammy) Kelly, and Joseph (Laurel) Kelly; sisters, Shirley Scrivens, Beverly Tobin, and Diana (Tom) Moores; multiple nieces and nephews; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Ardelle Walker; and his parents, Edward and Bertha Walker.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, Aug. 1, 2025, at New Hope Free Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Steve Berntson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens after a luncheon at the church.

In lieu of flowers or cards, memorial donations may be made to Jamestown Regional Medical Center Hospice.
