PARK RIVER, ND (NewsDakota.com)  LaMoure Post 19 and the Linton-Ashley-Wishek Rattlers won dramatic first-round games at the State Class B American Legion Baseball Tournament Friday.

GAME 1:  Thompson 10, Langdon 0 (5)

In a matchup expected to be a heavyweight fight to start the tourney, and eight-run third inning distanced Thompson for the finish.

GAME 2:  Linton-Ashley-Wishek 8, Cando 2 (9)

LAW trailed 2-0 after five, but scratched a run across in the sixth, another in the seventh, then erupted for sixth in the top of the ninth.

Cando rallied to load the bases with no outs in the bottom, but failed to score in a game in which the teams would combine to strand 27 runners.

GAME 3:  LaMoure 4, Renville Co. 3

In the lone walk-off of the day, LaMoure would slam out four hits in the bottom of the seventh, with Logan Potts driving a ball to center for game-winner.

LaMoure led 2-0 till late, then lost the lead on two Muskrat runs in the sixth to trail 3-2 before the rally.

GAME 4: Park River 12, Washburn 0

The host team took an early 3-0 edge, then scored five in the fourth and four more in the top of the seventh to run the game into a rout.

Thompson faces LAW at approximately 3:00 PM Saturday, with Park River and LaMoure to follow.  Both games will be heard on KDDR 1220 AM and related translators.
