VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The following is a news release from the Valley City Police Department.
Chief Nick Horner said on Sunday, August 4, 2025, at approximately 6:23 PM, officers with the Valley City Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle driving erratically. Officers located the suspect vehicle and attempted a traffic stop in the area of 5th Avenue NE. The driver failed to yield and fled from law enforcement. The pursuit concluded in the 1100 block of 5th Avenue NE, where the vehicle was safely stopped and the driver taken into custody without further incident.
The driver, identified as 29-year-old Landon Steinhaus was arrested and is facing multiple charges, including:
- Driving Under the Influence (4th offense or subsequent within 15 years)
- Driving While Suspended
- Fleeing a Police Officer
- Outstanding Arrest Warrant
The Valley City Police Department was assisted in this incident by the Barnes County Sheriff’s Office.
