VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Barnes County Emergency Management wants to remind residents that an Emergency Storm Shelter is available in Valley City.

The designated storm shelter is available to residents living in trailer homes, staying in campers, or have no basement to seek safety from dangerous weather conditions like tornadoes. The storm shelter is located at Connect Church 320 Central Ave S Valley City.

The shelter will be opened when the National Weather Service issues a Tornado Watch and will remain open if hazardous weather conditions persist. Residents are encouraged to arrive prepared and bring essential items, such as snacks, water, medications & personal hygiene items. Comfort items like blankets, pillows, and stuffed animals are also welcome.
