VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Public School District is excited to officially start a new Pre-Kindergarten Program in partnership with Head Start/Community Action for 4-year-old’s at Jefferson Elementary School.
Superintendent Josh Johnson said this new program, fully grant funded through the state of North Dakota, will help ensure that all 4-year-old’s have access to a free pre-kindergarten program in Valley City. Recently, we received notification from the state that we would be fully funded for a second classroom for the 2025-2026 school year.
Johnson said we are especially excited to announce that Mrs. Rebecca Berntson and Mrs. Kayleen Marthaler will be the classroom teachers for this new program. Both Becca and Kayleen bring with many years of elementary teaching experience with them into this program and will do an outstanding job helping prepare the 4-year-old’s for kindergarten. Please know that we are continuing to register students for this new program and if you would like more information about the 4-year-old pre-k program, please contact Mrs. Becky Goven at Jefferson Elementary School at becky.goven@k12.nd.us or 701.845.0622.
