SIOUX CITY, IA – (VCSUVikings.com)  Viking volleyball challenged a pair of top-15 teams Saturday, dropping tight matchups.

The Vikings opened play at the Siouxland Invitational against #13 Oklahoma Wesleyan. After dropping the first set, Oklahoma Wesleyan bounced back to take the next three. The Eagles won the match 22-25, 25-20, 25-21.

The Vikings then challenged their highest-ranked opponent to date, dropping a 3-2 decision to #7 Northwestern University, Iowa 25-20, 21-25,25-18, 17-25, and 9-15.

Macy Fridgen led the Vikings offense with 15 kills against Oklahoma Wesleyan and 10 against Northwestern.  Ellie Lucas had 11 kills against Oklahoma Wesleyan, and Danielle Hagler and Morgan Freije each added eight against Northwestern.
