
VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – One individual was treated for injuries suffered during a propane tank explosion on Wednesday, August 27 about 7:18pm.
City Administrator Gwen Crawford said the Valley City Fire Department, Valley City Police Department, and the Barnes County Ambulance responded to a report of a propane tank explosion at 731 4th Ave SW in Valley City, ND. Upon arrival, first responders found one individual with minor burns to her arms and ankles. It was determined that the individual was trying to use a gas-operated fire pit. It appeared that the propane hose was cracked and gas had built up in the container that flashed, causing a small explosion. The propane tank did not rupture as first reported.
She said first responders were on scene for approximately 26 minutes. The injured woman was treated by members of the Barnes County Ambulance.
