VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City State University students and the Valley City community are invited to come together for Summer Vikes on Central, a night full of live music, games, food, and community spirit on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

The celebration kicks off at 5:30 with food vendors and business booths opening. At 5:45 p.m. is the Viking Walk, where students will gather at the VCSU footbridge and march down Central Avenue led by the VCSU Marching Band. Festivities continue downtown with a live performance by variety cover band 2 Weeks Notice from 6–9 p.m.

Attendees can enjoy a wide selection of food from local favorites, including Doodling Dixie’s, Ramsey’s Kitchen, Reister Meats and Catering, Smoke Time BBQ, Monkey Balls, Posh Ice, Cosmic Treats, and the VCSU Booster Club (food available for purchase).

Local businesses and organizations will also be hosting booths featuring games, giveaways, and prizes, from gel blasters and lawn pong to free popcorn, lemonade, and even ramen noodles. A dunk tank will also give participants the chance to dunk VCSU and community members, with free-will donations benefiting the Sheyenne Valley Friends of Animals.

The event is open to VCSU students and the greater Valley City community. Whether looking to network, explore local businesses, or simply enjoy a night of entertainment, Summer Vikes on Central offers something for everyone.
