VALLEY CITY, ND (NewsDakota.com) Thursday night football comes to Valley City tonight when the Vikings host Augsburg University.

The Vikings are trying to bounce back after an opening week loss to Dickinson State 30-15 last Thursday in Dickinson. The Vikings trailed by two at halftime, but failed to find points after the break.

Transfer quarterback Joey Cave threw for 228 yards and a score in the loss. Jake Deutsch caught four balls for 80 yards, including a score.

Augsburg is opening their season tonight. The Auggies were beaten by the Vikings last year in Minneapolis, MN 24-14.

The Auggies top returner is wide receiver Tyrone Wilson, who caught 76 passes for 1011 yards and 13 scores in 2024.
