VALLEY CITY, ND (NewsDakota.com) The Viking volleyball team faces two teams with national recognition this weekend.

Tonight, Valley City State hosts Montana-Western, one of seven Frontier Conference teams receiving national attention in current polling. Both the Vikings and Bulldogs are receiving votes in this week’s poll.

The Vikings will then face 21st-ranked Montana Tech Saturday afternoon.

Valley City State blanked Mayville State 25-20, 25-17, 25-15 Wednesday night to win their Frontier Conference debut. Morgan Freije had 10 kills, while Gracie Schumacher had recorded 24 assists on the night.
