SIOUX FALLS, SD – University of Jamestown’s first cross country meet as a member of NCAA Division II was at the Augustana Twilight meet Friday at Yankton Trail Park.  Jamestown’s women finished seventh and the men were ninth.

Two freshmen paced the Jimmie women.  Lydia Franson was 11th of 319 runners in 17:41.49.  Hallie Person placed 37th with a time of 18:33.24.

The other scorers for UJ were sophomore Lilly Petty (19:04.90, 66th), sophomore Allyson Goodmanson (19:26.26, 90th) and freshman Kari Patterson (19:30.24, 95th).

Also, Greta Goven ran in 19:48.87 and Jeris Stark had a time of 20:42.34.  Six runners set their personal best times.

South Dakota State won the team title and the Jackrabbits’ Ashlyn Hillyard won individually at 17:04.27.

Gavin Graham, a sophomore, was best for the Jamestown men in 20:09.83 to place 66th.  Junior Cole Campbell was 74th im 20:15.22.

Freshman Aaron Devine (20:21.16, 84th), freshman Noah Sayler (20:33.71, 104th) and freshman Braeden Kinzler (20:43.73, 124th) also scored for the Jimmies.

Owen Rohr ran in 21:08.15, Lucas Dahl clocked 21:29.19, Samuel Sampers finished in 21:45.59, David Ralios timed 21:46.41, Adam Sobolik crossed the line in 22:11.42 and Sam Bratkiewicz ran in 24:37.98.

All 11 runners captured personal best times.

Cody Larson of South Dakota State was the individual champion in 18:00.10 and the Jackrabbits also took the team title.

Both Jamestown teams will run in the Blue Hawk Invitational on September 20 in Medora.
