
RAPID CITY, SD – Trying to carry over good from a dramatic season-opening win, Jamestown Jimmie Men’s Soccer scored first, but not again Saturday as South Dakota Mines ended with a 4-1 victory over UJ at Dakota Fields.
Felipe Costa, who had two assists in Wednesday’s 4-3 comeback win at Minnesota Morris, scored in the sixth minute for the Jimmies (1-1-0).
SD Mines evened the match on a Nickolas North goal in the 35th minute and there was a 1-1 draw at halftime.
The Hardrockers then controlled the second half. Alvin Udoto put Mines ahead 2-1 with a goal in minute 59. Parker Yocom then scored twice in the 66th and 69th minutes.
SD Mines outshot Jamestown 17-5 overall and 12-2 on goal.
Dawid Chrobot made seven saves in 69 minutes in goal for Jamestown. Connor Warren played the last 21 minutes and made one save.
The Jimmies will play Texas A&M International on Friday in Laredo, Texas.
